What a terrific drawing! It reminds me a bit of 19th century book illustrations, and tales of adventure in exotic places, where perhaps nature has taken over the seat of an ancient civilization. Or perhaps I've been reading Kipling's 'Jungle Book' too recently. Nonetheless, your drawing hints at exciting and wondrous stories to be told. One of those qualities that can be difficult to plan, but much fun to behold. Also, I rather like the way the lion's right eye is lit up. Thanks for sharing this one!
Love it. The space and its depth is so well-defined. I love your use of shadows and light here to define both the lion and his surroundings. And I love how the pencil lines make even the shadows feel alive. :)

Sudan Red
Aaaaw... he's smiling! He doesn't seem fierce at all - rather sheepish in fact!

I like him! He's adorable! This does look like an old illustration from some neat book, like Rusalka said. :3
